most prob getting an Asus as a replacement ba.
hahas, practically the guys in my class that once owns an acer 14 inch is now using asus computers. lols

good thing, SITEX is tis coming weekend, do hope to pick up some good bargains fr it..
bad thing, MST is nx week.
Time to switch back into exams mood again, it does kinda dampen spirits at tis time when everything n everyone is on the fly.
Busy time tis coming holidays too. round island to do, plus the stacks of projs due..

reminds me of myself when i was in that same position last yr..
going thru the "PTs" n waking up in the middle of the nite, killing the frog n stuff.. ya
time does past.
now i m seeing the juniors gg thru the same too.. hahas, but much less hiong than us i wld say.

Batam trip was great!
Though it was just a short 3D2N, it was meaningful.
Best of it was going tgt with gramps ,aunt & those.

1st nite arrival at purajaya beach resort was "interesting" in the sense that the aircon was down & we had to sleep with the windows open.. lucky it's a beach resort..
2nd day was spent walking ard town, nth much to buy anw, but can say the shirts there are reali cheap!
We had much difficulties counting the large sums of money involved in every transaction though. At nite, YEA we had seafood dinner, which was cheap n tasty.. There were like 6-7 dishes n the bill amounted to ard a third of back in sg, minus the GST of cus.
Pretty much sums up the weekend here alr, didnt do much except that we ate quite a lot.. hahas, worth going back a visit nx time, its jus a 45mins ferry away..
Good getaway frm urbanisation lahh..
& also worth commenting were the hotel staff which gave one that "royalty" feeling laa..

my ACER laptop broke down i guess permanently.

Time for some updates.
First thing first, I m back safely n soundly frm Berkelah Falls in kuantan.
I can onli say it was exhilarating, fun, love, harrowing-escape, close shave, flash flood, national geographic, chilly, hot, sweaty, shivering, camera spoil, police rescue..
Fri, Set off frm singapore. I spent almost like $50 on taxi that day, rushing to n fro sch n meeting the rest at kranji mrt. DAMN! & the taxi uncle dropped me like at the exit of the expressway, i hadta walk all d way to kranji lugging a heavy bag.
ok, as usual 170 is packed lik mad on fri. Tis time i carried one 8men tent onli. Reached over JB side, n lard wenta chiong to tis snacks stall selling lik mim-chiam-kueh kinda stuff except its crispy, damn nice. City square to buy drinks n tidbits, followed by 170 agn to larkin terminal.. Dinner was nasi goreng n we departed on the 2359 express coach to Kuantan.
As usual la, we were introduced to the world of drag racing the max speed 110kmph way.. hehs.
Sat, Reached kuantan at 4 in the morning. Slept at the terminal til 7+ before heading down 4 prata. Think nite before kana cold alr, was sneezing like some riddolph reindeer on a cold xmas nite. Prata was filling before we left to find the domestic bus terminal.
No offence ah, but the m'sia bus system was kinda CMI la.
we arrived at 0815 n waited lik 45mins for the bus to supposedly depart. But den, board bus, we wait 1st in no aircon n wait somemore in aircon with driver. at last lik wad seems to be 2hrs fr our arrival before we start moving.. lols.
Arrived at berkelah foot n started trekking up.. Cold started to act up en route up, which was an irony to the scorching hot weather. Reached base camp n started to set up the tents n shelter. kinda proud at our work.
Nitefall, dinner was nice n homely.. N we settled down to chilled for the nite's perfomance star.. BUT den "flash" a strike a lightning kinda spoils the mood & we all noe jolly well the profercy is gonna come true agn. Off we go into the tents as it drizzles, dozed off aft awhile mayb influence of medicine..
Not before long, i was lik wondering why our tent is getting wetter n wetter n wetter. I was lik shit cant be a hole ryt, why so lousy shit one; we were lik almost sleeping on water alr on that point almost 3 -4 cm in water. Den thats when i heard "
EVACUATE" frm across the bank where another grp of campers were camping too.
Word spread lik fire, n we were told to get our passports n head to higher grounds. CB FUCK, the moment i zip open the tent n look out, i damn SWEAR our tents was alr floating on the flood water alr. cus due to the rain the river overflow hence got flashflood..
OMFG, it was reali lik those scene u will onli see on nat geo or ripleys believe it or not.
So we go ascending up the slope amongst the cold n rain.. BRRR, that was lik 2am plus. took out my phone n tried to call the malaysia police for help.. they kinda re routed me thru diff point before i got an officer whom i had difficulty communicating our location to, as ya "
aku tha-ta-wu malayu la".. Thank goodness, cyn was still awake when i called back to sg. Reali mus thank her for helping us call the kuantan police hq.. Managed to relate our event to the officer n he promised a search team wld be dispatched. That was our warmth at that moment i guess.
Stood there lik 2 hrs plus before the waters subside, n we returned to camp. Thanks also the ppl on the other side of the bank that warned us, else who noes wad wld have happened, white water rafting in tents ?
Place was in a state of mess, n everyone tried to catch some eye-shutter.
Sun.
Daybreak. woke up to see mud everyone, & the calm lazy river we played in ytd was now a fiery angrt rapid, racing down the mountain. Caught a first glimpse of the rescue party n its cus we related the wrong points to them.. hmm, at that point was kinda relieved la & we watched as the men in blue tread across the river to rescue the trapped ppl on the other bank.
Was told by tis nice gentlemen JOE, that tis always happens when it rained hard, but he was more worried abt us geting trapped in landslide instead.
Packed up our stuff n we escorted down the mountain by the men, damn it reali rained hard sia, the streams ytd are now rivers & the trail had form streams of its own. Managed to take a few pics before i realised my cam was victim of the flood. Many of the others electronics too fell prey to the water.
Reached the foot n we were transported out to the main road where i met the boss of the fire department. Waited awhile for the chief himself to come down. AWW, how nice is that?.. shook hands with him n took photos. He also arranged us back to kuantan town FOC & in police escort on a 6tonne.. WOW, thats reali reali very cool indeed.
Had A & W for lunch, eat til super full sia.. & ya, it was super duper hot when we got into town, so much for ying-yang aye.. Aft tt, boarded the bus to larkin at 1500hrs. Tis time round, bus was smooth n i slept feeling good. Along the way, the officer sms-ed me enquiring if we are ok.. Thats real nice, n yes it felt good la. KUDOS to the officers if are reading tis, great job that day!
Reached back larkin at nite, n headed to street food for dinner. Missed the yellow bus cross the causeway hence we walked across it instead. Back to woodlands n missed 161 again, well thats another taxi for me liao!!
well, yea reached home n jus glad that everyone is safe, though i jus found out today the repair for my cam cost SGD $120!
but anw, jus thinking back la.. it was reali an experience that we may not be witnessing to in our lives again n the $35 we paid for the recere was more than an amt to satisified.. It does make one rethink on how close we are to meeting with danger in our lifestyle..
ok, good job everyone though we end uo having to postpone the event..
