Well yea, back frm SIKE 07.. [Southern Islands Kayaking Expediton] Ok, on sat met up wif my working comm peeps tgt wif yuhui, weihong n angela at clementi b4 heading over to poly marina.. half went ta get food 4 expedition while e rest of us went to prepare equipment. Basically whole aftnoon was cleaning tents, n wrapping motivational food 4 participants.. Aft all was done, wenta hav fun kayaking at low tide, quite fun cus gt tis nice area we were practically able to stand on e sea bed alr!.. Nitefall, went out makan at clementi b4 fetching e participants at clementi mrt. Everyone got a lilo high.. back to pm, did briefing, den ice-breaking which was abt e fun part la. Lights out den ha our own debrief, decided to pitch a tent 4 us working comm to slp.. hahas, kindof in e middle of e road la..
Sun, woke up early to prepare breakfast 4 all.. den came e rather chaotic part cus equipment were being taken out n at e same time needed to load onto equipement boat 4 departure. anw, tt was done, n me n thomas left 4 hantu early wif e equipment.. reached hantu lik damn early la, n e island was deserted so we were lik drinking milo to our pleasure. Found some coconut which i thot were "crackable" but took damn freaking long to shove n cut e damn husk, which til in e end still remained tough.. =( e rest of them arrived on time at ard 2+ in e aftnoon, which was quite early i thot.. den pitch tents n set up cooking area.. Den came e rain.. lucky it subside or else cant jetty jump liao.. But it freaking came back agn, so hadta withdraw everyone to tents. we started on e cooking while e participants took a break. was rather stressed at e cook area cus it was getting dark n running out of time at e same time.. Kudos to everyone there tt ensured its running.. Nvrtheless, we had our own share of fun alongside e cooking part..
e wet weather didnt reali dampen e atmposhere, as all got high at camplight.. Washed out den back to tents lights out... the worse came ard an hr or so later.. there was tis fucking strong wind followed by thunderstorn n rain.. our tentage was lik freaking swaying frm left to right on e verge of being blown off! definitely one e worst tropical storms i experienced, now i noe how ppl affected by e tsunami were feeling.. Unfortunately, one of e participants' tents gav way n ushered all to e jetty 4 shelter.. N "chilling cold to e bone" was e phrase to describe e feeling we had waiting out e storm, e winds were howling + e breeze was brrr..
Much of e nite (or morning) is spent at e jetty, wanting to slp but obviously unable to.. =( Daybreak hadta clean up aft e aftermath.. m proud to say e onli "stable" tent left standing was ours.. reali brought a lilo smile to me when i saw e particiapants readily wanting to help esp kudos to e gals.. Not of me being biased, but seriously i felt e gals were more enthu n stuff den e guys, somehow.. Breakfast, while we were scruffying ard to meet e departure time..
Return trip, thomas was TL n i ATL.. which means single kayak 4 us.. Seriously by time we all reach e 1st raft-up location frm hantu, i was punctured alr.. Following suit, think i lost my pacing or smthing, damn buang liao.. frm e front was drifting all e way to e back, n e strokes i made were gg.. frm afar e end point appeared damn near, on e contrary it took awhile to arrive.. damn bad an ATL i m sia.. Pitched-up,wash kayaks n stuff.. can see most of us comm were half buang liao.. new found respect 4 all.. here's a toast to all!.. Overall, it was a 1st sucessful planned expedition by us, despite e hiccups, e weather, etc.. Do hope tt e participants enjoyed e trip.. =D

Aft sch was over, went over to city hall to meet e guys. Everyone was late lor, onli me n yang reached ON time sia.. so wenta raffles place search 4 presents, cldnt reali decided wad to get.. Nofy, team,kun, kong, sebest, derr, n finally e bday boy came gradually.. None cld reali agree on e present so decided we shd jus treat stan bday dinner instead. Settled on tis western cuisine "surf & turf".. V nice ambience, great food, but was abit of a blow on wallet la.. well, it happens once in awhile nia.. atif, tkc, ben, zaniel came ltr.. ~It was great seeing them all tgt in one spot, catching up on e crap n nonsense.. hehes..
Goin 4 kayaking expedition tml le, to pulau hantu over e weekends til monday.. Looking fwd to having a fun time there.. =p Tata..
Tml's finally e day aviation history draws a big exclamation mark!.. First commercial flight of the A380, flight SQ380 too!.. was holding so much anticipation to make a trip down to changi to catch her maiden departure.. BUT guess wad?
the flight departs changi @0800 hrs.. Waaaaa, initially thot e flight was an evening one say abt 5-6pm den was planning to chiong down aft sch ends.. But in e end, hais.. probably wont be able to see so early + sch starts at tt time.. =( ~there goes my beautiful pics..

Back to 2day, hmm had lunch at fc1.. N ate e yong tau fu, zai man.. was lik $3 for ard 8-9 pieces wif lots of mee portion too.. worth it la n it taste almost lik BHSS's canteen yong tau fu, e soup nt quite there but eating e sauce somehow reminds me of sec sch.. hahas.. Plus, fc1 was kindof e "garden" for engineering students lik us.. =p
2day was a day of many firsts 4 me.. Took powerboat out to pulau hantu recc 4 nx week's SIKE.. Damn song man esp when e boat speeds up, the wind ah.. song man.. Out into e open sea at e sea channels (water version of expressway), saw many huge tankers tt was lik 7-8 stories high!! Also looped rd jurong island, n learnt some water theories frm cynthia..
Reached Hantu, n e water there was clear de la, can see e rocks near e shore line.. the island was practically deserted de, did some walking ard b4 setting down 4 lunch.. Aft tt, was Jetty Jump! wakaoz, however didnt quite did e jump correctly as we're supposed to close ur legs but well i 4got n hahas, landed hard on my butt in e water.. lols, & e water was a mixture of sweet n salt. ~pollution? dunno.. But anw e water was nice la, can see fishes too..
Time 4 e journey back, me wilard jiayao thomas each gt a chance to steer e powerboat 4 a lilo while!.. Damn cool la, superb sia, e waves were also much more choppy than earlier. Got tis part damn nice, it was lik 3 consecutive waves up n down + another was super high, i think 4 a moment or so was lik "floating on air" b4 smashing down agn.. Huat ah! Wonder if e actual expedition the waves wld be lik tis.. cools..
Aft tt, wena queensway walk ard while thomas bought his shoes.. hahas, saw quite alot of nice shoes. ~ tempting tempting.. Dined at tis food center nearby, b4 heading over to IKEA.. took a stroll ard, quite crappy along e way la, muhahas.. den chiong their famous hot dog buns.. =p
The cursed diarrhoea got the better of me. woke up tis morning preparing to head to poly marina, but somehow kana diarrhoea reali badly.. Guessed e food poisoning wasnt so quite done yet.. Aborted e thot n went back slp.. Wenta see a doc later, prescribed some medicines, n was told it was due to e earlier sore throat which "invited" e viruses to strike double time.. =(

Ytd was Sch of EEE's 50th anniversary.. Hadta stay ard in sch to watch e star search competition as part of the celebrations.. Aft tt was kindof ceremony a banner was unveiled on e side of e SEEE building..

Den came dinner which was either kfc or pizza given sch.. Took kfc which was probably e worst decision i made e whole day. E meat was lik cold cold de lor.. Den on e way home, had seriously bad stomach cramps.. So much so i alighted e bus to use e toilet n took a cab home frm there.. Nite-time was worst, e whole damn nite was drifting in n out of slp, vomiting n diarrhoea.. ~Fucking bad case of food poisoning.. So much so for 50th anniversary aye..

Had steamboat dinner @tian tian huo guo.. wif zaniel, shikun, stan, kyang ard dinner was lik nonsense aft nonsense.. cook eat cook eat lik nobody's business.. =p den came e cut cake part.. diaos, wanted to cake smash yang but failed.. n e damn cake was lik e ruins aft being "handled carefully" by us.. Presents even funny.. shikun jus took a samsung phone out of his pocket den giv yang say his present den ltr drop on e floor followed by stepped n finally thrown into e soup!.. wakao i reali tio seh sia, onli ltr to realised tt it was acty a replica of e real thing.. lols..

On e way took tis basket bus service 30, e driver is damn idiot reckless, practically every stop e ppl haven properly board/alight den speeding alr, walau ehh.. Reached shenton way terminal but walked big circles trying to find e bus stop which was in fact so near us la..

I still rmbr last time in prisch we always order e meat n fried stuff over vegetables.. Nowadays in poly it seemed its lik "auto" ppl will order vegetables or fruits to go along wif their meals.. Thanks all 4 spending e nite wif me aye, n oso 4 e gift too.. =D ~had a nice time catching up la..
