Gunung Stong 1399M. =)
~wad a lovely place, embracing mother nature, enriching geography, enjoying the great companionship.
well, its quite hard to lose e diff sights n feel of the majestic highland even though being back on concrete singapore. somehow on rather u look at things differently, n ya seriously i almost thot buses were alien too! lols..
hmm, ya set off last fri frm kranji mrt, squezing wif e evening 170 crowd & a 50litre bag.. seems that customs had implemented e self-clearance system, was quite a breeze. Once over to malaysia side, met up n had dinner at city square b4 chop chop boarding the departing train at 1900hrs. Ok, tis is my 1st time taking a train in malaysia so was basically fascinated?
There began e 12hrs train ride. playing cards, chatting, hoping frm carriage to carriage, exploring the dinner car ~ jus abt lik lilo kids excited abt going on hol.. =D the train was delayed by quite abit n since woke up quite early, took in the sights n breeze.. the morning dew was simply gorgeous, we jus pulled open the doors n phoof its lik instant-shiok aircon! Along the way, passed some beautiful landscapes, gunung musang or smthing..
At last we arrived at Dabong station. we were introduced to our guide whom we called as uncle.. Due to the train delay, we hadta go caving 1st instead of scaling the highland. & to tell i'm reali amazed by the sheer size of these caves. uncle explained to us abt the limestone creations, habitats, soil, etc etc.. amazing amazing how water can do.. oso got to experience the darkest of dark, within the caves.. its lik experiencing these places we onli see on national geographic.. superb!
Aft caving, had lunch at station b4 going to the foot of gunung stong. trekked up to the base camp of e waterfall which is abt 400+ M above sea lvls.. mm, it's pretty much commercialised cus u see huts n stuff set up there.. chilled at the waterfall area, n e water is freaking cold! we oso found tis amazing spot near e base camp where the 1st words is usually "OMG"! its damn damn cool la, cus at tt spot u can lik look down n see the valley, plantations, etc.. - zai zai..
~that OMG feeling!..
Spent e nite there as too late to climb to summit. was looking fwd to a great dinner aft all e can foods we brought, but damn it rained.. n hais, once agn scrambling into e tent to con'd.. oh well, its nature.. hahas, woke up in e morning to chilly conditions.. it wld be nice if there's a jacket, hahas. Had breakfast b4 going to the nice nice site we saw ytd to see the sunrise, seems lik the other grp of singaporeans tt came wif our grp was alr there, armed wif tripods n cameras.. lols.
Sunrisen. Time to scale to the summit, uncle said it wld take 8hrs up n down. ok, initial thot was it maybe shorter, but well the route taken was reali 4hrs up! its nice looking at the flora, trees, ferns.. even came across a wild boar's hoof print! n got tis macham long thick fallen log which we walked on it.. mm, interesting..
Well, aft an "interesting" climb we reached e summit 1399M!.. heehes, n hungry ppl we are dig into an eye-opener lunch - Army rations!.. hahahas, overall can pass la, taste was gd 4 meat items but not so 4 vegetables..n oh there were squirrels there too, very de cute sei..
Began our trek down to base camp. seriously the uphill part felt much better than e down.. n ya 4get to mention earlier the "kampung adidas" which i bought at RM4.50 was zai lor, e grip power sia.. But nt e comfort level, -blisters.. Arrived back to camp closing to darkness so hadta quicken or else the onli things we wld see are the backs of e ppl in front of u.. the descend was much better as e heavy bags were more or less emptied but once agn more slippery due to e earlier downpour.. - Challenging la, i wld say.
Came down to foot, wif nite alr fallen. had a quick shower, boy was it refreshing! boarded e truck to send us back to e train station area, jus in time 4 dinner.. N nasi goreng it was. lols.. The train was once agn delayed by abt 45mins so chatted wif uncle. he was reali a nice man, going all out to make sure we feel comfortable, explaining wad he noe of the jungle, jus going e extra mile.. =D he even recommended we visit east java indonesia to see e volcanoes!
The train came n its time to bid our goodbyes.. I wld always rmbr his enthusiaism 4 nature..=p tis time e journey was 'quiet', guess everyone was alr shagged frm e climb.. the bed onboard felt so much lik home, wif e jerking lik a rocking cradle.. hahahs, slept a 6-7 hrs too.. mmm, lik i said " a train journey is nvr abt e destination, its abt enjoying e process.." hahas, i sure did enjoyed e process + e destination!.. =D
1015hrs, we pulled into johore bahru station.. time 4 some 'urban' venture.. lols, breakfast den wenta watch stepup2 at city square.. RM6, tts a third of ours? lols, but sry to say la e quality was abit compromised baa.. oh well.. ltr did some shoppin ard b4 heading back to spore..
Overall, i reali reali did enjoyed tis trip.. n yeap taking a train is quite fun acty.. I oso understood much abt nature thru the experience itself.. =P

Ok, i'm back frm SPA Grad camp.
woa, had a blast of a time there. learnt, bond, fun.
sry to the guys/gals, i MIA u all go mr seah hse.. lols.
Fri b4 camp went watch jumper wif e guys in town. den head over to sch. waa, seriously a man wif a big backpack is no welcome on board the peak hr trains.
Camp began. PT by reave. den ropewalk. Followed nite walk ard e sch, it was not so bad la, compared to ubin. even though its lik almost pitch dark u can agar noe ur way ard the route, well its ur sch anw.. & none of those antics there to scare u.. hahas..
2nd day morning, woken by eileen do PT n ans questions. Fel n my came too. nx activity which was lik the big mega event of e camp. I too got a damn sense of shiok when i completed it.
1st we packed e "comfy" army bags abt 3-4 bottles of water. took a train to diff points in spore. Mine was to tampines.. trainer was yuhui. I was given clue n find my partner lah. so walk lor, tampines, TP, bedok reservoir, end ubi.
frm there bus to kallang meet up wif e rest of e ppl. den walk agn. kallang, lavender, city hall, smu, orchard, tanglin. along e way quite fun la, do alot of those "interesting" activites.
Tanglin -- Buona Vista. got quite high too, singing.. den came e max "shiok", run 25 stairs up down. Huat ahh.. Finish walk back to PM. where got e ultimate "high", PT agn. ~imagine that feeling, u can alr song bo liao le..
Ytd, woke up le, as usual is PT lor.. N yes i 4get to mention breakfast was creamy peanut butter wif bread. oh my, that is gg esp when need finish e bottle. Aft tt did jetty jump.. weex, zai zai.. everyone did it, n am v proud of tt. Kayaking ltr, ok la abt standard trainings, except mus chop chop chiong everything la.
came on land den reave jus say ok 1000 domino.. my jaw almost lik dropped but we complete it anw. it was quite heart warming when u see e seniors n everyone jus there goin pumping position do wif us.. den got written test. lols, interesting..
Finish alr, den jus hadta clear PT aka punishments..

hmm, overall it was a gd nice camp. did many extrodinary things we ourselves aint think capable. mind over matter.
1) walking frm tampines to west coast is possible
2)1000 push-ups can be done.
3) most imptantly, team work, leave no one behind, stick tgt as one.

2day is feb14, Valentine's Day.
Tml is feb15, Total Defence Day..
hahahs, was it feb15 that e japs attack spore?.. lols
met up wif eillen jiayao saiful 2day to recce the food 4 stong trip. it was so cool la, went to tis office at mandai to see the rations we are goin to be having.. its standard military issue, n the variety was nt bad too.. but the best part was the boss is super customer-oriented laa, answering to our questions & needs, making sure we are comfy; even though we are ordering lik 15pkts to test test.. ~kudos man!. Heard its goin to be commercially nx time.. an eye opener 4 me..
ltr wenta ten-mile junction recce e rest of e food.. hahas.. guess i wld be looking fwd to e trip.. even though its a 12hr train ride.. speaking of trains, i find them quite amazing, i read abt tis somewhere.. - A train journey is not abt getting to the destination, its abt enjoying the process and the sceniics along the way. =)

hmm, ok talk abt ytd 1st.. it was a day of hse-visiting aft another.. 1st time that much of a hardcore hse visitations other than kahlam's hse.. but it was fun nevertheless, gambled a lilo n lots of hardcore UNO too.. lolss.
Dinner was at Nihon Mura at cathay.. lols, 99cents agn.. now i noe why its cheap, cus they use machines to press the rice rather than hand roll-on.. Anw, it was a fun day out wif them though the journey home was quite "eventful" la.. sunday u noe laa.. a wraf of spices in the air.. hehes..
2day. went back sch to help wif the spring-cleaning.. hahas, washing tents wif eilleen was quite fun sei.. den slacked ard til siewling wilard came.. ate at newyorknewyork to celebrate siewsiew bday.. hahas =) like e atmosphere n e staff there were great.. + got candy floss too, Gee that was nice..
isit wise to be chasing smthing tt is losing a piece wif every step moved?aiis, guess its partial me thinking.. the value of a compromise is priceless, the result of a compromise is castrophoric.. oh well, things are best left to work out, can or cannot see lor.. ~those times were reali nice.. :)

Been busy wif CNY things no time to sit down use the net..
XING NIAN KUAI LE everyone.. Wishing everyone a lovely great yr, in studies, love, work, etc.. n most impt gd health n stay happy. =D
Well, as usual wif traditions.. had the standard hse-vistings n stuff.. but a lilo diff was having reunion dinner wif e guys plus lao yusheng.. ~that was reali a superb time, the feeling is jus gd laa.. so gd..
Den CNY eve's went back bhss to visit the teachers.. hahas.. kkl n low as usual making time so "funny".. Ow changed quite alot, esp wif his new hair n specs.. so much younger lor, BUT as usual he is as gd to "jack" ppl as last time.. =D
Day1 had visit frm mr/mrs lim nx door.. n dey brought their dog over.. hahahas, its so lovely sei.. N heard he is super alert whenever ppl come down the common staircase he barks.. jus a lilo naughty n active baa, but other-wise he is quite gd.. help us all keep e nosey parker out..
Aft tt was to both side's grandma's hse n spending e rest of e day there..
CNY is oso e time of e yr, when meals are made up of biscuits soft drinks beer all rojak tgt!.. hahahs.. so Full! n nt 4get-ing the small small things u eat along e way.. lols =) Went to ikea tampines aft e hse-visitings 2day.. woa its damn huge laa.. quite surprise still gt ppl go there shop.. was looking 4 bk-cases.. saw tis nice looking shelf but hesitating abt it.. still playing ard wif arrangements in my room to decide if i wanna get.. jus felt that having too much furniture restricts space..

I read wif interest tis article in today's paper "
Packed like sushi in a Tokyo train".
Their definition of a packed subway is literally compressed til the extent where one can onli wriggle their toes or blink their eyes to "move".. It is no wonder their trains are running at 200% capacity as compared to that
miserable not-even-100% full in singapore.
"To a Japanese, it cant be helped that trains are crowded in the morning as dey understand tt every1 is trying to get to work on time, too", ~that is smthing the writer commented which left me a wow.
It irks me to see that ugly behaviour we are practising, cant dey jus move in to the center of the train car? despite those continous announcements over the PA system, haiss its jus a real let-down i felt we hav a world class transport system n yet we are the ones that killed it.. N on the other hand, we are complaining abt tis that, rising fares la, unclean tis tt.. its jus lik every1 is wanting to get frm point A to point B on time ryt?, jus tahan abit la.. we are nt lik big metropolics take few hrs to travel..
Another thing is courtesy. wad happened to singa the lion?.. jus e other day saw tis damn bastard jus conveniently parking his car by the side of the road blocking the whole carpark exit, n to do wad? - buy 4D.. n there is lik at least 50 lots within 1min walking dist in the carpark, WTF.. until ppl fucking honk him den he come n drive away wif tt irritated look as if he is in the right..
