I woke up this morning and was reading yesterday's paper on the table.
Came across this article that reads: Despite deaths, Railway tracks still accessible.
Reading on, I'm angered yet sadden at the media and people's response.
Cant we be more matured to have the bloody common sense to say "this is an active train track, keep off, enter at your own risk."
Why do we need a fence and gates to tell us that. Have we all gotten all comfortable and pampered in our lives that we become ignorant fools when you need a damn watchdog to save your own lives, the most basic of humanity - to Save yourself.
I'm would be really sadden if the day comes when fences go up.
First are the fences blocking access to the road parallel to the airport runway, then the platform doors on MRT stations (ridiculous waste of money), next what? Fences separating ALL pedestrian paths from the roads to prevent jaywalking?
We would really become animals in the zoo already. Seeing things from behind a cage.
Sigh..
And come to think of it. All these things dont happen until some accident happened; the media and people then jump on it like a pack of hungry lions snatching a piece of meat.
We ought to take a leaf from the way Malaysians run things; you slow down things, you communicate better..
